About
People have been telling me to make a career in art since the time I was in pre-school. I would have loved to pursue that, if only I possessed the motivation and dedication to such a long and tedious journey of becoming a professional artist.
I have lived in Northern California my whole life but I long to travel, and I love stories and folklore from around the world. I am a huge fan of the original fairytales and mythology. I am an avid believer in supernatural phenomena and find it fascinating. I find myself pulling a lot of inspiration for my drawings from these interests.
My childhood and adolescence was spent mainly buried in books and expressing myself through art, whether it be a drawing, singing or acting, mainly to distract myself from my home life, which was often chaotic at best.
I have never taken a “real” art class. It’s hard for me to take direction on a whim if I don’t feel up to creating something. I tried once in 7th grade, and the teacher gave me a B on a project for using marker, instead of colored pencil. That was enough for me to be turned off of classes. I have been told I’m crazy to not further my talents, but like I said… if the inspiration isn’t there, it’s hard to conjure up without that spark.
As for now, I’m a 25 year old girl just trying to get by working in the medical field. I love to see what each new day will bring. I have a wonderful boyfriend and love that he is willing to put up with my quirkiness.
